Parents as partners

Challenges and opportunities

The recent challenges, and subsequent growth in remote working has placed a greater importance on the need for effective communication between everyone involved in educating children and young people in Jersey.

We're confident that this will lead to even stronger partnerships following this challenging period.

‘Parents are vital partners in education. They influence their children’s attitudes about learning, and support learning at home’

Positive partnerships

While our schools are responsible for teaching our children, parents and carers are the ones who support this to the best of their ability.

Positive partnerships in education are essential so that children and young people understand what is expected of them and continue to learn and develop.

If you have any queries, then discuss this with the Headteacher of your child’s school, who will be able to explain their approaches clearly and the support available to you.
