Climate change in focus

"We are at a unique stage in our history. Never before have we had such an awareness of what we are doing to the planet, and never before have we had the power to do something about that." (David Attenborough)

In May 2019, the Jersey States Assembly made a commitment to respond to the climate emergency and to ‘aim to be carbon neutral by 2030’.

The Jersey Youth Parliament have also responded by agreeing to organise a Climate Action Campaign.

Through listening to the voices of the Jersey Youth Parliament and other children and young people, it is very clear that they wish to have a greater awareness of climate change, so they can have some opportunities to make changes that will benefit their future lives.

We have put together some information to support you for when your child begins to ask questions. There is so much information available that we hope it will be useful to have some key links, videos and activities in one place to help your child learn more. All of this will also be reinforced through the work that your child will cover in their school.
